Advanced Trainings

In-depth clinical modules for therapists who have completed the core VM and NM program — module integration, work with the vascular and urogenital systems, and specialist topics.

Available courses

VM Integracja Visceral Manipulation — Clinical Integration VM1–VM4 +

Review and reinforcement of tissue-sensing skills, main techniques and listening techniques learned in VM1–VM4, with integration into practical work.

  • Review of the main techniques for each organ, plus the listening techniques from VM1–VM4.
  • Integration of listening and techniques into practical work — a step-by-step protocol.
  • Students perform sessions on each other, following the presented protocol.
  • A daily demonstration session on a real patient, plus time for questions and sharing practice experience.

Prerequisites: VM4

SSE Neurovascular, Synovial, Lymphatic Extremities — Synoviolymphatic System of the Extremities (SSE) +

Jean-Pierre Barral's new approach to acute and chronic joint syndromes, focused on the synovial and lymphatic system of the limbs — the network responsible for fluid balance, toxin elimination and regulation of intra-articular pressure.

  • Techniques for working with deep synovial structures and improving the elasticity of joint capsules.
  • Supporting fluid exchange, reducing inflammation, improving long-term joint function.
  • Application after mechanical injuries, in inflammatory conditions and immune reactions.

Prerequisites: VM2 or qualified osteopaths

VVMU Visceral Vascular Manipulation: Upper Body (VVMU) +

Techniques for examining and treating the vascular system of the upper body, including soft-tissue manipulation of the heart, aorta, subclavian and brachial arteries.

  • Locating and releasing restrictions along vascular structures (compression, decompression, elongation).
  • The effect of increased blood circulation on organ function, and treatment of the vasopressor system and the brain.
  • Doppler study findings on the most effective methods of arterial mobilization.

Prerequisites: VM4

VVML Visceral Vascular Manipulation: Lower Body (VVML) +

Techniques for examining and treating the vascular system of the lower body — the hepatic, splenic, femoral and popliteal arteries.

  • Barral's view of the knee as a "neurological joint" and restoring communication by improving blood flow.
  • Techniques useful after injury or surgery, when conventional musculoskeletal techniques bring little relief.
  • The role of the vascular system in post-operative care (pelvis, hip, knee).

Prerequisites: none listed on the source page

AVMVOR Advanced Visceral Manipulation: Visceral Osteoarticular Relationships (AVMVOR) +

Examining the relationship between internal organs and the spine and joints. Joint restrictions are often an expression of an underlying visceral or psychological issue — the course integrates advanced visceral manipulation techniques in the treatment of osteo-articular dysfunction.

  • The effect of treating the visceral system on osteo-articular dysfunction.
  • Expanding assessment skills through listening and inhibition techniques.

Prerequisites: VM2

UGMA Advanced Urogenital Manipulation +

A continuation of the urogenital manipulation work developed by Jean-Pierre Barral over 40 years, based in part on the books "Visceral Manipulations for Female Pelvic Disorders" and "Prostate Manipulations". It covers voiding disorders, menstrual pain, pudendal neuralgia and fertility issues.

  • Ligamentous manipulation and advanced viscoelastic, neural and vascular manipulation techniques.
  • External and internal techniques — the latter discussed theoretically, with an optional practical component.

Prerequisites: completed VM3

SCB1 Strategic Crossroads of the Body 1 +

Work with the fascio-peritoneal "crossroads" of the body — points where arteries, nerves, muscles and tendons change direction (including the craniocervical, axillary, diaphragmatic, inguinal and popliteal regions).

  • Diagnosis using listening tests and pulse assessment.
  • Treatment of the given area with precise manual techniques.

Prerequisites: VM2 and (MALE or MAUE or MASP); or VM2 and (NM2 or NM3); or VM2 and (VVMU or VVML)

AVMT Advanced Visceral Manipulation: Trauma (AVMT) +

How the external force of trauma affects different body tissues, and how traumatic forces are stored within them, leading to structural problems many years after the injury.

  • Distinguishing and treating intra- and interosseous strains within the neurocranium, facial skeleton and thorax.
  • Assessment and treatment of the abdominal organs, the pelvis, and selected lower-limb joints.

Prerequisites: Thorax (VM4) and Neural Manipulation: Integrated Approach to Trauma (NM1)
